I Love the Tube!
Spending some time in London these days. Travelling around on the London Underground is both painful and fun at the same time. Kind of paradoxical.
During my journey's on the 'Tube' I have seen many things, heard many things and experienced many things.
Heard on the Tube:
Two hep-ish Indian/Pakistani mom's talking.
Woman 1 (smart and trying to be sexy): Our stop is two stations away.
Her kid: 'Where are we now'?
Woman 1: We are near Harrods.
Woman 2 (not so smart and showing stuff to try and be sexy): 'Isn't that where you bought your handbag from'?
Woman 1: -blah blah blah- 'your foundation [makeup] is visible' -blah blah blah-.
Seen on the Tube:
Lots of cool looking girls in formal clothes! Smartly dressed gals from exotic parts of the world!
The latest laptops, mobiles and PDAs. Books with interesting looking covers and catchy titles.
Experienced on the Tube:
The woman who smiled at me. I was travelling on the District Line Train towards Earl's Court. A woman came in on board the train at Westminister. She must have been around 28. She had a badge on her jacket with today's date and 'Visitor' written on it. I was trying to make out where the badge was from. Looked like something Government related. She caught me looking at her badge and she turned a bit towards me. I could now make out the badge clearly. It had a Government logo on it.
Then my attention wandered towards the door because a station had come up. As I looked back in her general direction I saw her looking at me. I met her gaze for a bit then looked away. She had a sweet face.
Looking back again in her general direction I again saw her looking at me. This time I didn't look away and neither did she. Then she gave me the sweetest smile and I couldn't help but smile back at her.
She got down at the next station and that was the end of that!
:)
Like I said.. the Tube is amazing yet a pain. New things happening all the time! I could never read a book there. So many things to observe and think about!
Full Circle Family Planning
The other day I was told by someone that 'Boots sells everything from baby toys to sex toys'.
Sex toys are sold only through the website except during Christmas when they are also sold in the 'family planning' section in selected stores.
A question that came to my mind, at this point was how do sex toys help in 'family planning'?
Perhaps a social science Ph.D. topic?
It is amazing though, that Boots does baby toys so the baby can grow up happy and then once all grown up, go back to Boots for their sex toys and thus produce more babies completing the circle! This is what I call full circle family planning!
