Talking about marriage, wishing a friend well:
Me: Hope you find the woman of your dreams this year.
M: tere mu mein teri manpasand daru... (may you get your favourite alcohol to drink*).
*Back home we have this saying for whenever someone predicts / wishes something nice for you. It goes something like 'tere mu mein ghee shakkar' - basically meaning may you get to eat what you enjoy the most (coz you said good words through your mouth.
So people don't think of me as an alcoholic! I just love to drink!
