My Birthday pics

Rajdev: All set to return to India as Bhuvan looks on.

Rajdev, me and Bharat during my birthday celebrations.

My birthday cake! :D

At Lahori our favourite eating place. Bharat with the Lahori guys.

Fire

My birthday (3rd March) was spent watching the movie Fire by Deepa Mehta (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0116308/)

It had many metaphors in it I am sure of it. But to be honest I didn't understand many of it.
What I would have found most interesting would be the struggle of the two women to survive in society as a couple. The freedom struggle shown is not as dramatic as their struggle to survive would have been.

It is easy to break free but difficult to survive once you are free in the wild.

NOTHING ELSE MATTERS!

This is a beautiful song. The slow guitar and the haunting voice. But the best thing about this song is the message it conveys.

"Forever trusting who we are
and nothing else matters "

Who are we? Is it a 'we' as in a love relation?
Does this song tell us that nothing else matters except trust between two people?
Does it tell us to trust ourselves and not be a social sheep?

Nothing Else Matters by Metallica.

So close, no matter how far

Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
and nothing else matters

Never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don't just say
and nothing else matters

Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us something new
Open mind for a different view
and nothing else matters

never cared for what they do
never cared for what they know
but I know

So close, no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
and nothing else matters

never cared for what they do
never cared for what they know
but I know

Never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don't just say

Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us, something new
Open mind for a different view
and nothing else matters

never cared for what they say
never cared for games they play
never cared for what they do
never cared for what they know
and I know

So close, no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
No, nothing else matters

Danger!

27/02/2006 06:45:19 Feeling Stupid -> Abha: hey sorry for being bit silly today
27/02/2006 06:48:58 Abha -> Feeling Stupid: u were as silly as you normally are

27/02/2006 06:49:20 Feeling Stupid -> Abha: hehe thank god u got patience
27/02/2006 06:49:52 Abha -> Feeling Stupid: uhhhhh i dont ahve patience

I do enjoy it when girls call me stupid or silly especially since I can't figure out WHY they think I am silly?
Someone (a girl!) HAS to tell me the reason!

Sitting on the hood of our crashed car (notice the missing number plate (ripped off when the front of the car hit the embankment). Ankur is looking on... and we have an authentic TANK CROSSING in the background! Posted by Picasa

Abhijeet, Raj and Me at Stonehenge (26th of February 2006) Posted by Picasa

Car crash on the A360 between Shrewton and Devizes. Thats the car I was travelling in with Ankur behind the wheel. The car spun out of control and crashed into the embankment (seen on the right side) and did a 180 degree turn to point back to the way we were coming from. The impact had enough force to push the car on top of the embankment. We were returning from Stonehenge. Posted by Picasa

Stonehenge. Who would have thought just half an hour later I would have a brush with death. But the people I was with our collective luck helped us come out without a scratch! It was exciting! The car spinning going here and there. Most amazing! My first car crash! :D Posted by Picasa

Me, Ankur, Raj and Abhijeet... a pic just before the accident. Everything A-OK! The most amazing time of my life!  Posted by Picasa
