When Winter ends...

This is a time of change. Especially back home in India. When the cold fog lifts from the plains of India to be replaced by the hot dry winds coming in from the desert.
Suddenly the warm and cozy nights turn into nights of torture when Delhi is blasted by heat from all sides. As the streets turn into an open air furnace and 40+ degree heat hits you like a tidal wave the minute you step out.. life seems to wither and die.
Everything seems to move in slow motion.... as your sweat evaporates faster than it can form.
Everything seems pure in this death....
The heat makes you float. The world swims in front of your eyes like a mirage.
Into this death.. to awaken.
A world in which no amount of LOVE can inject any warmth... just the neverending heat of the busy world.
BTW I am drunk again.

Amazing day!

Yesterday was one of the most amazing days of my life.
Firstly got a lift from a complete stranger (read last post).
Then the meeting with my supervisor went well. Then as I was sitting a friend came to office coz he had forgotten power cable of his laptop cable. So he offered me a lift back home. And I accepted.
When we reached his car I saw it was parked right next to the car of the person who had dropped me in the morning!
Amazing!
Then later on in the evening I got the news that my first research paper had been accepted at a conference!

Then today morning a strange thing happened. As I was standing at the bus stop with my head in the clouds I realised I didnt have any money in my wallet. The bus came but I had to go back home to get money! :( I was thinking it would be funny if I come back and the same person picked me up! As I reached home I realised that the money had been in the inside pocket of the jacket I was wearing and not in the wallet!
So I went back to stand at the bus stop to wait for the next bus.
As I was waiting the same person pulled up! And I got another lift today.
It was amazing.

Random Act of Kindness

Today as I was waiting for a bus to the University, I was touched by a random act of kindness.
A lady drove up and parked next to the bus stop and asked me if I was going to the Uni. I said yes. Then she asked me if I would like a lift. I thought maybe she was new to Bristol or something didnt know the route. She said she knew the route but she was giving me a lift coz thats where she was going to. So I got in. There was another young lad in the car. So I asked her again if she knew the route or needed any help. It turned out that she worked at the Uni and her giving me a lift was a random act of kindness!
Her name is Christi.
This just got me thinking if each one of us did a random act of kindness every day and make it spread out in ripple, life would become a little easier for so many people.
And who knows how and when these ripples of kindness come back and touch our lives?
